Inspector Vijay Varma of the Criminal Investigation Department, Bombay is on a daring assignment to track down and bust a notorious gang of smugglers headed by the vicious Daga. Working on a tip-off from an anonymous caller, Inspector Vijay succeeds in apprehending Daga's lieutenant Balwant and thus comes to grips with childhood friend but Professional rival Ravi, a brilliant Criminal lawyer who is engaged by Daga to get Balwant acquitted.

On the lookout for Inspector Vijay's secret informer, Daga learns of his crush on a beautiful girl Sheetal, who is also adored by Ravi. Seizing the opportunity Daga causes a rift between the two friends making Ravi believe that Vijay has double-crossed him.

With Ravi, who is now Vijay's sworn enemy, Daga deviously frames Vijay for causing death of criminal, tortured by him during interrogation.
